The Government of Navarra will honor the 34 employees of the Provincial Council shot during the Civil War
The Government of Navarra wants to pay homage to the 34 officers of the Provincial Administration who were shot during the Civil War, and is turning to relatives and descendants who want to attend the event are requested to contact via telephone
The event will take place throughout the month of September. It will consist of a tribute in the courtyard of the Palacio de Navarra, chaired by the President of Navarra, uxue barkos, and will feature the presence of authorities, after which a plate will be found in memory of the deceased, to be located on the facade main building of the San Ignacio Avenue.
The plate will collect the name and surname of the shot to death people, with the caption, in Castilian and Basque, "the Government of Navarra in memory and tribute to the officers and staff working for the Provincial Council who were murdered in Navarra during the war 1936 civil defend the republican legality ".
Among the victims were employees of all kinds, although dominated by camineros (fifteen). There were also several motorcyclists and drivers and workers performing their work in the hospital (carpenter, bricklayer, baker, sacristan). Finally, among the repressed workers also it includes an inspector, a collector of taxes, an auditor and a practitioner.
The Government of Navarre has been in contact with associations related to historical memory, through which has located several descendants and relatives of people executed by firing squad.
